In 1989 four friends and lovers of the Beatles created the band ABBEY ROAD. It was originally made up of Manel Solsona as John Lennon, Manel Mateo as Paul McCartney, Carlos Gazituaga as George Harrison and Carlos Marine as Ringo Starr.
In 1992 Carlos Gazituaga gave the witness to Ferrán Corbalán and that same year ABBEY ROAD performed at the Olympic Games in Barcelona, an event that made them a benchmark band in the Spanish music scene related to The Beatles.
Between 1995 and 1997 ABBEY ROAD attends the Beatles Fest, a festival that brings together the best Beatles bands from around the world and which is held every year, of course, in Liverpool. ABBEY ROAD performs at the legendary Cavern Back, Cavern Fron and Flanagan’s Pub, as well as at the Adelphi Hotel. On this occasion, they shared the stage with a very special guest, Steve Holley, drummer for Paul McCartney, and together they performed I saw her standing there. It was in 1996 when the prestigious English magazine Moho ranked ABBEY ROAD as the fifth best band in the world and the first non-English-speaking band in the Beatles Universe.
In 1998 Carlos Moreno replaced Carlos Marine on drums and in 2002 ABBEY ROAD returned to Liverpool to participate again in the Beatles Fest and perform again at The Cavern, reaping another great success.
During the last 30 years ABBEY ROAD has performed more than 2000 concerts on four continents, including three concerts in Miami and one in Tunisia under the same set where the well-known Star Wars was filmed.
ABBEY ROAD has appeared on more than twenty occasions on TV and in countless specialized magazines and national newspapers, it has also been awarded at the A.R.C awards in 2009, 2013 and 2016.
In 2005 he participated in the show entitled “A night like that day” with the Bootleg Beatles to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Beatles’ performance in Spain.
In 2016 Manel Solsona and Manel Mateo left the band and were replaced by Jordi Expósito and Jonathan Gimeno respectively. It is from this moment when the band expands its musical repertoire and its show to cover the entire discography of The Beatles from 1962 to 1970 and carry out a staging that makes it one of the best Beatles shows in Europe.
Since 2020 Abbey Road offers the public a show that combines technology with the essence of the Beatles. A 2-hour show accompanied by a light exhibition and projections that make this a unique show in Europe that will conquer all generations.
In 2023 Adrián Ghiardo joins the band to substitute Jonathan Gimeno.
